May 5-6 is the climax of the Great Planet Alignment.

Four planets that can be seen with the naked-eye (Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter) have stretched out in a long line. The line has slowly contracted each night, as the four planets draw closer to each other. Even the moon got involved, closely passing each of the four planets over a span of five nights in mid-April. Now through the first days of May will likely be the best time to see yet a fifth planet: Mercury.

MSN Hotmail users - guard your cookies.

A simple technique for accessing Microsoft's free e-mail service without a password is in the wild and apparently being exploited. The trick involves capturing a copy of the victim's browser cookies file. Once the perpetrator gains two key Hotmail cookies, there's no way to lock him out because at Hotmail, cookies trump even passwords.

Folder Names

When naming folders, make sure you use a standard name, or a name that is descriptive enough so that you will remember its purpose. For example, a folder named EZGDOC may make sense at some time, but later, it is meaningless. Name the folder appropriately. In this case Emazing_Documents would be better understood.

Copy And Paste Sizes

While within Explorer, if you are currently copying files and/or folders, you will see something like this: n object(s) selected. Farther to the right is a number followed by KB or MB.

This information is what is currently being stored in the clipboard and the sum of the size of the folders and files.

Business Tip: Sound Etiquette

When you are at home working or playing, you can have all the beeps, whirls, sneezes, or whatever other noise that makes you chuckle. However, when at work, your computer should be silent to avoid distracting other employees. There is nothing more annoying than hearing the "Whoo-hoo!" of Homer Simpson over and over. I once heard of a guy who had his computer emitting various belching noises. This is, perhaps, momentarily amusing but nonetheless egregious. Turn off the sound or wear headphones.

Games For Windows

If you are a parent and are concerned about what your kids are playing, good for you! You should also know what the ratings mean:

EC: Early Childhood - 3 and older.
E: Everyone - 6 and older.
T: Teen - 13 and older. May contain violent content,
language, and suggestive themes.
M: Mature - 17 and older. High level of violence, very
strong language and sexual subject matter.
AO: Adults Only - 18 and over. Graphic depictions of sex and violence.

One word of caution: what the ratings system may consider an 'E' may not be acceptable in your household. If your kid
is uncomfortable playing the game in your presence, you should probably play it yourself, or watch them to see
what's going on.

Disk Space Problems

If you are running out of disk space, then you have several options to help clear the clutter quickly. Before doing anything drastic, take these easy steps.

Delete any Readme files that you don't need.
Delete Help files that you don't need.
Delete old Internet Temporary Files.
Archive or delete old documents.
Check your Internet mail. If you have old mail you no
longer need, delete it.
Remove old games you don't play anymore.

One good trick is also to perform a search on files that are over 100 MB. This will identify the biggest offenders
first and help to concentrate your efforts.
