To download any Flag just right click on it and click on Save Picture as:
Keep your flag outside all of the time.
Remember the flag must be lit up at night. So leave it out all night, just put a light on it.

Windows media Player

In Windows Me, the windows Media player, when copying music from a CD to your hard drive will automatically compress the file to save room.

Automatic Updates

To control the Automatic Update Process, go to the control panel and select the "Automatic Updates" icon. In Windows Me, it is standard, in previous versions, it is not so you may not have this option with Windows 98 and earlier. If you have this icon, click it and it will open a dialogue box that will allow three options. The first is the default, which is why you are getting the automatic updates.

The second and third options give you the control. The second option will tell you if an update is available and allow you to control this. This is nice, but your system will still access the web to see if an update is available. The third option is my favorite. Windows will attempt no updating or scanning at all. You must manually go to Microsoft's web site and download any updates. This gives you full and total control over accessing the Internet for updates to your system.

Slow Computer?

There is a theory in operations management that basically says that if you have a linear process, it cannot progress any faster than the processes slowest procedure. This theory also holds true for computers. Windows 98, Me, XP and others are preinstalled on super fast computers, but many still wonder if they are getting the bang for the buck.

The fastest part of your process is memory and the slowest is reading disks. Using Windows tools such as the System Monitor will help to isolate the bottleneck. More than likely it's not a new CPU that you need, but more memory and better disk cache management.

Moving files

In Windows, it is always convenient to move files from one folder to another depending upon its use. For documents, this is not a big deal. For system files, and program files, it is a big deal. Windows has links and files that point to specific locations expecting files. If you have moved them using Explorer, Windows may not function properly. Leave these files alone

Turn off floppy search

Windows Me performs a search on your system each time you reboot to determine if you have installed a new floppy disk drive. You can easily remove this check by going into the Control Panel and selecting the 'System' icon. Now, select the Performance tab and click the 'File System' button.

Within this, select the 'Floppy Disk' tab and uncheck the 'Search for new floppy disk drive…' option.

If, at a later time, you add a new floppy drive, check this box, let Windows find it and add controllers, then uncheck it again.
