Remember the flag must be lit up at night. So leave it out all night, just put a light on it.

Letter-writing campaign

Last week Deepak encouraged a letter-writing campaign addressed to the bankruptcy court and representatives in Congress in order to keep the Ricochet system intact. Metricom's manner of presenting Ricochet for sale under bankruptcy has been less than successful. Our campaign is to request that the Debtor in Possession status needs to be removed. We wish to see that the system remains intact for a reasonable period of time. If you would like to help save the Ricochet technology by sending a letter to the Judge and your congressman asking for the
"Debtor in possession status needs to be removed"
The info for the judge is:

US bankruptcy court, northern district of California
United States Courthouse, Room 3035

Guest for Today

Today Sue is on her way to Comdex, so MissM (Jane)
and JavaBeanz (Gari)
will be helping me and reading the news.

Jim Eshelman from www.aumha.org/
will be talking about WindowsXP

We will have a taped interview with Sue and Tamara

My name is Tamara Libertad Hernández Danel. I was born in Taxco, Guerrero, México in 1982.
When I was ten years old, I went to the United States with my family to learn English.
I came back to Taxco after three years and joined the Cooperative Artcamp.
Since then I have been helping this group of women and my family in the village in Tecalpulco
to preserve the handcraft tradition.

AlaskaJoe's Tips
Holiday Games And Stuff

There are tons of little programs that do all kinds of neat stuff that pop up all over the place
around the holiday season. Games such as Elf Bowl and Snowcraft are fun and great time wasters.
There are also programs that put little elves on your desktop, lights around the edges
of your screen, and so forth.

Most of these programs are harmless; others are not quite
so kind. When you receive one of these little "gifts" from
a friend urging you to play, take a moment and run a virus
scan on the file before you open it. Otherwise, you might
find an unpleasant surprise inside this package.

Radio On The Web

We enjoy listening to the radio while we use the computer.
One easy way to do this is to use Microsoft's Windows Media Player.
If you don't have at least version 7.1, you should download an upgrade.

To listen to the radio using Media Player, run the program
and then click the Radio Tuner tab. Now you can select the station you want
to hear. If you don't see anything you'd like to hear, select from one of the
listed topics (Country, Top 40, etc.).

Click the station you want to hear and select Play. Note
that some will not work due to format, accessibility, etc.

 Holiday Backgrounds From The Internet

Do you want to easily install that really cool picture you found on the Internet as
your background for the holidays? No problem. Just right-click on the image while
in Explorer and choose "Set As Wallpaper." Then wait a few seconds and there
you go! If you decide to change wallpapers once more, simply repeat the process.
